Exactly 50 years ago, Sunday February 11th in 1968, the Czechoslovak ski jumper Jiri Raska won in the normal hill event in Autrans (approx. 35 km from Grenoble) and got the gold winter olympic medal for his country in the history.
Writer Ota Pavel described his normal hill jump like: “It was a beautiful flight in endless silence it lasted a short human age. The artist and editor Ota Mašek almost fainted, the photographer Jarda Skála stopped taking pictures. The Coach Remsa was washing his face by snow and squeaky Norwegian guy stopped whistling.”
